How do you dispose of used coolant?

Is it a specialized, single-purpose facility?

Nope. They also take electronics, aluminum, a few other things, and normal garbage. They don't take construction waste though

Every time I have called the HHW hotline about used automotive coolant, they said to pour it into the toilet and flush a couple times to dilute... the wastewater treatment facility will handle the disposal chemistry.

I live out in the boonies and there’s no real recycling program available. How do you dispose of your old coolant where you live? Do auto parts stores accept it like they do for used oil?

I take it to Jiffy Lube, or the dealer (which are required to do in my state)

Yes, down the sanitary sewer. I offered that advice here once, and one of our left-coast members freaked out on me.

Had the same happen to me here a few years back. I've always dumped in the city sewer via my sink or toilet.
