How come i can always fix everyone else's problems, but anything of my own is a nightmare?

Any repair project of my own turns into a 5 beer all day long nightmare when it should have only taken an hour or two, but fixing something for someone else is piece of cake.

I love when those jobs come in the door…. I also enjoy walking around the paper company looking for maintenance to give my parts to at 2am

Guess I am not alone, measuring jobs in beers. Brother-in-law and I used to do that.
He had a head gasket leaking on a 390 Ford. Had me out to look at the job in store.
Asked how long it would take. Scratched my head and quoted 10-12 beers.

This one would be an easy one. I'd answer maybe a day or two, after you remove the engine.
I don't drink beer, so?

That's true. I say no unless it's something I know I can handle. Usually my own jobs are to avoid calling a repair man

This is the answer. You pick and choose the favors, you have to do every DIY job of your own.

Depends on your age, and if you can crush your chest for what ever time it takes.
Yeah when I was a skinny kid, I could fit down in with the engine between it and the inner fender.
Now I need it out.
