MS Surface Pro 9 Browser Problems

A while back, I bought a MS Suface Pro 9 to replace a dodgy laptop that was on it's last leg. I quickly discovered that screen time isn't as good (off cord) but figured the battery is much smaller so you get what you get. The touchscreen is nice and I have the keyboard for typing stuff like this where it's more than filling in boxes. Up to now, apart from the aforementioned lack of battery life, it's been a good computer. I should note that a little investgation revealed that my unit's battery is on par with everyone else's.

As of late, it won't display certain webpages or it just displays a white screen. Thinking it could be a network/router problem I logged on to my old Galaxy tablet and all is well. It will display every page the Surface won't. So much so, that I've nearly given up on using this thing. In an effort to solve my own problem, I did the following after searching the web:

Restarted the computer
Checked for updates to windows 11 and the browser that's in windows 11

Cleared the caches, cookies and everything else that can be cleared. So much so that I have to get the password book out everytime I log in here or other sites I frequent

I have not:

Messed around with the virus protection/firewall stuff because I just don't know what I'm doing

Smashed it because I had to use my tablet to buy concert tickets on Ticketmaster. Something about this computer makes certain sites "block" me. For instance, on Ticketmaster using the computer it says "tickets are not available online". On the tablet it's all good and I got the seats.

Now for the caveats, I saw JFK shot on TV, the day after it happened, so I fully understand this is a "me" problem. To be real honest, I'm thinking of going down to Microcenter and buying a Galaxy s10+ tablet (my other one is old and small) and putting the Surface in a drawer. I don't trade stocks online and maybe twice a month make internet bank transfers. Other than that, I use it for my forums browsing and to get parts online.

Rant over, here are my questions:

Is there something I can do to make this overpriced tablet do what a 150.00 tablet will do?

Or, should I just go buy a new tablet and call it good? I should add, I'm not opposed to spending money because frankly dicking with anything is beyond my patience at this stage of my life. However, I don't wan't to get rid of a vehicle because it's out of gas and I'm too thick to know it.

Thanks in advance for anything, including insults, because I need a laugh😂

That’s too bad, I had a surface pro 4 that’s been going strong until the last year or so and we’ve just swapped over to my wife’s surface book.

There are a myriad of settings as you’ve already discerned, I have on occasion seen where a site will load on one browser and not another. Have you tried a difference browser than Edge, something like Firefox, Chrome, or Duck Duck Go? I’ll point out your android tablet it likely running Chrome so that would be a good test of if it’s the surface or the browser causing that issue. If it works on chrome on your tablet but not your surface that’ll be a clue.

Also, does it come with any complimentary tech support for the first year or anything?

Are you using Microsoft Edge on the Surface Pro and Chrome on the Galaxy Tab?

You can try to do a repair.
  1. Open Add or Remove Programs
  2. Search or scroll down to Microsoft Edge
  3. Click on the

  4. Click on Modify and go through the repair process.
  5. Restart your Surface Pro and try to access websites again.

I just tried that. It reinstalled Edge and then I did a restart. The below pic is what I got after going to ticketmaster.

Hold the phone, it's working now. I chose "shut down" instead or "restart" and now I'm IN! Thank you so very much! BTW, I'm still thinking about the tablet purchase because little stuff like this eludes me.
