Went by Alco Stores and bought 30 qts @ $2.29 a pop. I was hoping it's some good stuff. Is it basically MC oil? Walmart has qts of MC @ $4.27.

I'd say that they are like siblings.

Incorrect. Some of the GRP III used in thr full syn is from Korea. It's pretty good stuff. SK lubricants is the company in Korea.

It's valued priced because it's at sams club not because of the base oils. Its the same price as Kendall everywhere else ie AZ OAP

I've heard great things about Trop Artic.

If I didn't have so much oil now and my wife wasn't mad at me (grin!) I would do it. Believe me, I've been tempted to pick some 5w20 at Alco!

It is a semi-syn blend.

There's a percentage of Korean group III used in semi-synthetic of Trop-Artic and Kendall. But I don't think the Motorcraft synthetic or semi-synthetic base oil comes from Korea.

Hopefully someone here can confirm that.

Motorcraft is made by CP and all of the oils are very similar if not the same, trop artic, 76, Kendall, Motorcraft. Except for Kendall which has the extra titanium additive.

Just saying the Korean base stock isn't why the oil was value priced, it because of the quantity and the store you bought it from buys in bulk.

Add-packs are all similar. I still believe that Motorcraft BASE OIL may be different / better grade.

It may even come from Korea these days. But I seriously doubt Motorcraft is coming out of the same hole.

I wish I had saved that article from 4-5 years ago.
