How big is your stash, hoarders?

So, where does the “10-15-20” years supply he refers to come from, if not his own strawman?
Years is still an OCI multiple volume, not an overall volume of oil they have hoarded. Here's some API SF oil being used which is probably 20+ years old.

Not one person has said that they keep that much.
Here's a good example of quite a collection. But he could service 20 cars, who knows? I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Point being, there are some people here with A LOT of oil.

One, I believe that the term “Hoarders” was meant in jest, or playfulness, by the OP. Nobody replying in this thread shows signs of the mental illness of true hoarding.
Yes, I think we all agree. I took it as an endearing term.

I took OP's comments in reference to people hoarding 15-20 years of oil. That didn't apply to me, so I didn't take it personally. It doesn't seem like that applies to you either, so I don't think his comments were meant to be taken personally by you either.

What hoarding? I think this was the point. It's a bit insulting to call someone with more oil a hoarder.
I did not call "anyone" simply with more oil a hoarder. I commented on the "hoarding" that's been discussed for over a decade here. I've seen pictures of (nearly) and entire room filled with oil. I spoke mainly of hoarding obsolete classifications.

Try giving me the benefit of the doubt "just once". You might be amazed.

I’m trying to figure out the parameters against which he’s ranting.

Not one person has said that they keep that much.

The closest anyone every came was the guy with a hallway full of oil (and tires in his bathtub) but even he planned to flip it.

You’re right, I am, indeed, arguing against a straw man, but it’s the straw man created by @gfh77665
OH, so if just I dare to express a reasoned opinion then I am presenting a "straw man" and "RANTING". How judgmental.

Not "one person"??? look back at some of the "stash pics" and posted claims over the past decade.

You're wrong about that, I'm still using SF rated oil. :ROFLMAO:
You are wrong...you missed where I said "I would not want" older classifications. (but it might be fine for you)

That's the exact definition of an expressed opinion.

Seems almost anyone's opinion is welcomed here, except for mine. Mine is called nasty names like "judgment, ranting, and strawman".

Two more thoughts -

One, I believe that the term “Hoarders” was meant in jest, or playfulness, by the OP. Nobody replying in this thread shows signs of the mental illness of true hoarding. So, ranting against people with that illness is misplaced..

That term has been used so many times here over the past decade + it would be hard to count.

Then suddenly I use it once and a meltdown of hurt feeling ensues. Why is that? What suddenly changed?

Lastly, you just said "it was meant in jest, or playfulness, by the OP". I recently JESTED about a "depression instead of a recession" some guy wanted, and you immediately ripped into me about not identifying it as sarcasm. Then, a certain beloved poster here asked about "FIFA fighting with Nukes" and you were of course stone cold silent. That was certainly unlabeled sarcasm too, so how does this work?

Because you stated that you didn’t understand. You stated 10-15-20 years’ supply.

You mischaracterised what the word meant, as it was originally intended.

What you got in reply was disagreement. Not meltdown.

How does “an entire room full” of oil turn into your 10-20 years ?

Even the guy who bought 100 jugs, and had it everywhere in his apartment, was a car flipper and planned to use it all that year.

Again, the judgement was on your end, presuming that a room full of oil meant decades, when clearly, other people buy and use oil differently than you.

Again, he is an extreme outlier. When a multitude of automotive topics are discussed here, no one officially disclaims "there may be certain rare circumstances where this does not apply..." and you never challenge it, except with me. No one else here talks in legalese, so I don't either.

Okay - then show me a post where somebody said they have decades worth of oil. Their use pattern. Not an interpretation.

Show me the true hoarder - the one you said you didn’t understand.

The one with decades of oil.

The one with obsolete specifications.

I apologize if my response seemed like a personal attack, that was not my intent. My comment to you was in jest, hence the laughing emoji.
