I just found this info.. Honda looks like they've been working on a reusable rocket that takes off on its own, then lands itself with retractable landing legs. In the test it landed within 15 inches of the target. I know SpaceX has been working on this too but looks like Honda made it look easy. Here's a link to the Japan Times, I think I can link to it. There are many videos on youtube if you just search Honda Rocket. Very cool to watch.

I wonder if it gets 1000mpg's and if the VTEC kicked in yo! lol..:cool:

Thanks for the post. Competition is always good.

In fairness they flew up 300m then landed and won’t be ready for space til 2029. That’s a bit different than where spacex is at. Plus everyone told Elon it was impossible so being second probably easier in this case.

How much market share does Honda have in the business jet market? Low single digits, in a money losing venture since launch.
Track record in flying things, not so good.
Good luck.

For those who don't know, this is a sub orbital rocket. It cannot make it into orbit. At the moment there have been no single stage to orbit rockets. Although prototypes exist, it has not been successfully accomplished.

For practical reasons, it takes at least two stages to lift a payload into orbit. So this Honda rocket has limited usefulness.
