Both my mower and washer are OHC.
Good news - the pressure washer does have a stock fuel filter!! I don't think the mower does though.

For the record here's MY Honda engine stuff:
Both are 160cc, 64x55 mm OHC aircooled, 4 stroke, 1 cyl., engines.
The washer engine is a:
GC160, 4.9 bhp at 3600 rpm, 7.6 ft-lbs @ 2500 rpm
The mower:
GCV160, 5.5 bhp @ 3600 rpm, 8.1 ft-lbs @ 2500 rpm
I really wonder why the HP delta????

Bror, Tim does carry the BobZoil straight 30 weight "dino moly" oil(Moly Bond 200?), but I don't think it's a non-detergent oil. There are 4 qts in my carport closet right now. I plan to mow Thursday w/a little Neutra or LC in oil, then change oil when through.
Must be the difference between the GC160 and the GX160 engines.
Perhaps the difference is the "C" for cam, as in overhead cam?

For the pump (not the motor) I was originally thinking of using Schaeffer #239 lube in straight 30 ... either A or S version. I asked about this and was told that Schaeffer has a 30 weight non-detergent oil that will work well in the pump. I'm not sure of the part number.
Should get it from Tim Mills in about a week or so (UPS Ground from Arkansas to Upstate NY).

Hello my names Jr. I have a 5.5hp, 2.5gpm, 2000psi Generac pressure washer. I am not sure what brand of pump it has, but it has a OHV Tecumseh. I engine has been a awsome runner. This pressure washer I got from my parents. They bought it a few years ago. About three years ago, maybe four. Well my parents lost the owners manual. It only had a few hours on it when I got it. I have put about 50 hours on it the year or so. Well the only maintance I have done is change the oil. I didn't know that the pump had a sump to. Well I do know. I have drained it. It was nasty in color. What oil should I use and How often should I change it. What do you all think of changing at the same time as the engine sump.
Premium hydraulic tractor fluid or universal tractor oil or UTF is a hydraulic fluid. What sets UTF apart from regular hydraulic fluid is that it is designed for the "wet brakes" you see in compact tractors. It is used as hydraulic fluid in rams, as a transmission fluid and to lubricate the wet brakes. Nice stuff. You can get it for 6 dollars a gallon at pretty much any auto parts store. It doesn't look very much like 30 weight oil to me.
The types of specs you will see on a jug include: Alis Chalmers PF-821XL, Allison, Caterpillar TO-2, Denison, HF-O, Deutz HTF, Ford Tractor, ..... WHite Q1722, Q1826 with about 20 more in between the dots.
JR, since you are asking about the pump rather than the engine, you might be better off searching the entire forum for words like "washer" or "pump" although the latter word will turn up a lot of unrelated viscosity debates.

Found pressure washer pump oil at NAPA. It will go in my pressure washer soon. Tried to paste the link here but it wouldn't work. Came up with a blank NAPA page. Anyhow if you search their site for "pressure washer oil" it's $4.42 a pint I believe. New toy! Woo Hoo!

I know this is a bit late, but the difference is the orientation of the engine. The GC160 is a horizontal shaft motor and the GCV160 is a vertical shaft motor. There are slight differences in the intake and exhaust setups and that probably accounts for the difference in the maximum HP ratings.
Ditto that. I can mow my whole yard (about an hour's time) twice without having to refill the tank on my GCV160-powered Craftsman mower. The fuel tank is a BIT smaller on my Honda Masters with the GXV140, and fuel economy isn't QUITE as good. I can't make it all the way through the second mowing without refilling. I'm completely satisfied with both engines. The GXV140 (the commercial engine) has such a nice hum to it when it runs. And I bought it used too. Good tip on the fuel filter. Both of mine still use the stock in-tank "filter", but adding a supplemental in-line filter is a great idea.
Nice to hear all the good stuff on Honda OHC engines, especially since I just ordered a generator that has a Honda GC160 OHC engine. I am figuring to break it in on Citgo Ultralife 10w30 and then after it is broken in, switching to Redline 10w30, although given how cool this engine is said to run, maybe I will save the Redline for my hotter running Techumseh lawnmower engine.

I absolutely LOVE my Honda-powered small equipment! I believe Honda is light-years ahead of anyone else when it comes to small engines.

Ahead of B&S, Tecumseh, Kohler and Onan, maybe. But take a look at Robin (Subaru) power equipment engines. Some prefer them to Hondas ... if you can believe that.

Mine was too (Green'95 DX Coupe - 5spd). I sold it to a neighbor of mine with 132,000 on the clock just over 2 years ago. She's put about another 35,000 miles on it and only replaced the CV joints so far.
Probably the best car I've ever had.

I have used it for 5hrs, and just dumped and used up the rest of the OEM Honda 10-30 it came with.
I want to run it another 5hrs, drain and refill w/ either Mobil 1 10w30 or ValMaxLifeSYN 5-30 I have stashed away.
I also found a bottle of B&S 30HD hidden in the back of my garage.
Which will work best in this application?
Will be used in SoTX heat and humidity.

Speaking of Honda, I have a kerosene genset which is 7 years old, running over 200+ hours a year, still running in its original condition, I just clean the air filter and carb frequently and use either Delvac Super or Delo 400, no abnormal oil consupmtion either, Honda is truly superb.
