Honda OEM oil filter quality?

I use the AC 2057 on my Honda Element, better than Honda Oil filters...

My Honda just rolled over 200 000 km ( 125 000 miles...) over almost 8 years, using the Honda oem filter for probably 9/10 oil changes. Engine uses very little oil and still runs like new.

I hope I didn't wreck it using those apparently so so Honda oil filters...

Seriously, the Honda oem filter "filters..." just fine. Aftermarker filters that promote 95, or 99 efficiency fall under the "better than you"ll ever need ...." category.

Funny thing is, the Honda currently has a Fram Ultra on it... ! Hey, they were on sale...for less than the oem Honda.

My take is flow decreases as the filter is filled with "dirt", so which flows better depends on it's capacity to hold dirt and how long the user leaves it on. When new, filter flow isn't an issue, it's when it fills and the bypass valve starts opening and the oil flows through the bypass hole. I would imagine there is a very wide set of factors determining when each filter fills up, why they say "up to" so many miles. So need to look up the capacity as well, and know your use and engine condition, IMO.

All the car companies favor flow. I favor flow also... Sometimes its better to just go oem although if Honda filters are Fram extra guards go with a quality filter like Napa Gold or even the regular wix they are much better built than the ocod in my opinion..

The only filter fram makes that i may use again is the ultra but i am not convinced it flows so great. It does look like a really well made filter though..

One of the Honda filters look like an entry level filter while the other is an impressively constructed filter for what appears to be a mid-tier aftermarket filter. I'd use that one.
