I guess that even though I've spoken out against the thin stuff, I just have to see for myself how it will perform before I can really decide if it's good or not. Honestly, it's not that much thinner than Mobil 1 5w30, as M1 5w30 is 9.7cst at 100c, while Pennzoil 5w20 is 8.6cst at 100c. That's less of a viscosity difference than there is between some different versions of 10w30 (for instance M1 is at 9.8 while Amsoil 10w30 is at 11.9)

typical 10W30 HTHS: 3.2 typical 5W30 HTHS: 3.0 OK, some difference there. But several 5W30 HTHS are 3.1, so if you're picky you can get a 5W30 just as good as many 10W30. eg: Pennzoil.
