The manual calls for 10w30 oil for the transmission. Which in this model is not the hydrostatic. I have cases of 5w30 Amsoil Sig series. Would that be okay to use? I'm assuming honda calls for 10w because maybe the transmission does not get that hot and it needs it to stay "thick" for the lower temp?

If smart drive, it most likely will not matter. 5w-30 / 10w-30 etc.

If you find that you do have the hydrostatic, it really does matter. You must use HST02 honda fluid. And you must use a special filling procedure and allow the air to come out overnight.
