State College, PA. There's a Honda dealer in that town and the next closest one is 45 miles away. Not sure where he is exactly, but there are 15 Honda dealers within 25 miles of me. No biggie if I were black listed at one.

Not that it's related, but my local Honda dealership held my keys and registration (for a trade in) hostage for a long time while I insisted I changed my mind and didn't want to buy a car from them. I've never been back, not even for parts for other peoples Hondas.
He said in the battery video that he told them he's a big boy Youtuber. It's one thing to just deny warranty, but blacklist after already denying the warranty? I don't really see a reason unless he has done this several times.
There is always more to the story, hard to tell if he used the DYKWIA on the dealer at the time, or just discussed his experience afterward. Either way the dealer is dumb. If they ate the battery he might have discussed how great they were and gained them some positive publicity, or at least more business from him since he clearly buys parts there.
Thanks I didn't have time to watch the whole thing. He said in the battery video that he told them he's a big boy Youtuber.
And in the topic video, he said he bought the part from them anyway through a third party.
Yeap, he did. Thing is, he's only got a little over 100k subscribers so I'm sure if should be bragging about his clout. He said in the battery video that he told them he's a big boy Youtuber.
Yeap again. I guess he doesn't see the irony in that. He still supported the dealer in a roundabout way. Thing is, I'll bet if he called in and ordered a part as a walk-in/phone customer vs "Pine Hollow", and paid with a credit card, the parts people wouldn't care. He has no choice for Honda parts though as the nearest is almost an hour's drive away, at least if he wants to do quick repairs....he said he bought the part from them anyway through a third party.
While somewhat petty on behalf of the dealer, it's no big loss to them. He operates a single-bay auto repair shop out of his home's garage so the loss of business isn't going to cause themI don't really see a reason
I know with Motorcraft and Mazda batteries we need the original RO/receipt from when the battery was purchased and it is not transferable except in rare circumstances. They are really strict about the paperwork now. Then there is the whole battery was replaced under the NVLW and the warranty carried is different than one with customer financial participation. There's definitely another side to the story.
It's rare for us to cut a customer off for anything other than non-payment or returning stuff they tore up. A number of customers are restricted from ordering certain types of parts, or are not allowed to return them if they do. Funny thing is they still come back for everything they can buy. A certain glass company is absolutely banned from buying GM windshields from us, but they blow our phones up all through the day for other stuff. Go figure.
Most parts departments are very busy and short handed these days, so there's little patience for game playing, especially when it comes from customers who don't actually generate much or any profit. When you have 5 calls on hold, you don't want to get tied up with the guy who is just going to create headaches for nothing. We are LKQ busy these days, so game playing isn't a good tactic if you want service.
