That recommendation is made with the OEM filter in mind. If you're using a non-OEM filter, you should probably stick with the recommendation on the filter. My guess is that the high efficiency Amsoil filter loads up more quickly than the lower-efficiency OEM filter. I've never heard of anyone using an OEM filter for 2 OCI's and having the oil pressure light come on.
