homemade pizza.

Some things are best left to the professionals who have the proper tools, equipment and experience. I doubt anyone has a wood fired oven at their house.
I've never had a homemade pizza that was as good as my favorite pizza restaurant. I don't care for the wood fired ones either....dries the crust out.

I'll try it when I'm down there. I usually go to Pummarola, there's one near you at The Falls, I go to the Boca location.
Thanks! I'll definitely try that one on our movie night at the Falls. Amici's is in the Hammocks area of west kendall on Killian Pkwy (104 and 157th).

The crust is like nothing you've ever had. It might seem off at first because it's not crispy, it's soft with some chew. This is the true Neapolitan style pizza, made by pizzaiolo's (pizza makers) from Napoli; no I'm not from Napoli, but neither was Maradona ;)

Maybe so....but I've tried three different places that sold wood fired....and they all had dry crust.
That's unfortunate, but I do also appreciate a crispy crust, see post #8. We fight for the slices around the perimeter, my wife is the only one that likes the middle pieces with no crust. :ROFLMAO:

That's a little too much dough for me, but you do have the right idea.
Making yeast dough and kneading and rising it isn't all that hard and is really satisfying.
You then spread the dough out on a circular pan or stone, top it and then pop it into a 400F or so oven for maybe twenty minutes.
You'll end up with the best pizza you've ever had.

Weber gas grill, not great but ok.

We order from an Italian restaurant near us, Amici's. Pretty good stuff. High end anchovies. Lol
Amici's is one of my favorite places - Manhattan Red Clam pizza (wife doesn't like anchovies :() and a family size Caesar salad with anchovies on the side (these go on my pizza slices).

Giovanni's and A Slice of New York, both in Sunnyvale are two more favorites.

As a pre-teen, when we used to visit my aunt and uncle in Seattle. My adult cousin and I used to make pizza all the time, stating with Chef Boyardee pizza dough and sauce kit. We'd doctor it up with toppings. Cousin Randy passed away earlier this year. I have found memories of Seattle and Port Hadlock. He's the one that gave me the Legend.
