The frame would have to be stripped bare at least to the firewall to put it on a frame machine and get just the frame straight, then all the new frame pieces installed. Huge job. (IF..it was an insurance repair)

That happened to a friend of mine driving along a rural 4 lane hwy in NC one night. Bunch of deer suddenly darting across the highway right into him. Totaled his PU and he was injured.
Turned out the be hunters illegally hunting nearby with spotlights spooked them into running.

The reference was if it was an insurance repair (meaning if a body shop did the repair paid for by an insurance company).

If it was my car and I was doing the repairs at home I'd probably do what you are doing.

Seems like they charge for that, but rarely do it.

GF's parents have been dealing with this since Nov... Deer strike on the front corner of her Dad's Imprezza wagon ( 2009, 250+k mi) Body shop they normally used, guy retired, and closed up, had to go to a "new"place... Shop and Insurance totaled it out, shop said they could fix it for~ $6k ( we Only use Factory original Parts! etc), but if they ( GF's Parents) could supply the used parts, the shop would get it roadworthy again, with a salvage title....
they of course had to "buy it back" from the Insurance, and I swear she said THAT was $7k... hopefully that was wrong...
ANYWAY... that was in November, couple weeks before Thanksgiving.... shop still has the car, and isn't returning calls....
a week or 2 later, a small, high volume/turnover used lot near me had 2011 Imprezza Sedan, with less than half the miles for sale for something like $6-8k.
I asked if there was any way they could get their $$ back, and let them keep the hulk, they didn't think so.

this car was just his Runabout back and forth the 30 or so mi to the yard of the Trucking company he drove for.... he's since retired...

That's the big issue with these cars that have a lot of miles, have been maintained well and are worth much more to the owner than market value. A deer runs in front of you and destroys a great car that's officially not worth very much. A real hit for the owner. I've been there.

I really thought it was too.
The "inverter coolant low" warning message definitely scared the insurance company off, just a simple part.
If it was hit the same way on the driver's side stick a forklift in it and put it in the car crusher it would be done. A hit on the driver's side like that would have smashed the transition and inverter stuff.
