Just wondering what other mechanical FI systems that ever existed on production vehicles besides the Rochester system that was used in the late 50s and early 60s on GM vehicles?

Yes K Jet. In my old 1985 Volvo 245Ti.

It worked. Most of the time. I mean it was reliable, but tuning not for faint of heart (no real need to mess with it, keep it clean)

Interestingly it had one electric injector for starting.

The cold start injector, controlled by the thermo time switch.

The mixture was adjusted by way of a 1.5mm (IIRC) allen key about a foot long that controlled the relationship between the metering block and the air valve.

that 77 Rabbit was CIS (K-Jet) too and probably had a rudimentary mixture adjustment via O2 sensor (CIS-E)

The Volkswagen type 3 had one of the Jetronic systems in the late 1960's. 1967, perhaps. Of the two that I knew that friends owned, both got converted to twin carburetors.
