Quite the combat aircraft. I was stationed at Hurlburt Field for 11 years at the other end of the flightline from the Gunship Squadron. We deployed many times to many places around the world with these; always the friendly rotary wing vs. fixed wing rivalry. A privilege to watch these in action - Google the story of Spirit 03 if you want to refresh some history. Going to rest with the Pavelow's at D.M. - Thank you for your service.

Here's a video of a current gun ship's operations. The crew loading the weapons are completely replaced with automation in the newest versions. These "H" models were used from Vietnam through all 12 years of war in Afganistan.
