Hah, that's a (IMO) $6,000 truck all day. I'd rock the heck outta that thing for 6K, but not anything over that. I do see safety caps on the frame in its future.

There was a listing around here for the same gen, almost same truck. Interior and most of the exterior was immaculate, but the frame was GONE. Like, you couldn't even weld in safety-caps anymore it was that bad. Forget the number, but it was ridiculous for the price.

Without Googling I conclude "safety caps" are reinforcements.
Are they available for real or are they locally made (and officially disapproved of)?

They're a good patch option for frames that have rotted in certain areas. Relatively easy to install if you got a welder. How inspection stations view them is a hit or miss, at least around here.

All I've ever heard of is, "welding fishplate all over the frame". I didn't know such things were made.

Maybe he was pricing it in Georgian Lauri, not USD?
Maybe seller is an addict and if any prospective buyer were to hook him up with a couple of weeks of that sweet, sweet stuff there'd be a deal right then and there.
Ain't no way on this earth that a 23 YO Taco is a $19K truck.
