As much as I hate to, I'm going to have to take the Highlander into the dealer.

I re-subscribed to some of the Toyota Connect features and I can't get the Remote Connect to activate. I get mixed and inaccurate information on the internet as to the fix. It's just easier to bite the bullet than to be frustrated. I've fought with this since Sept. 18th.

I'm at 48k miles and I'll just have them do the 45k mile scheduled maintenance. I'd do it myself but I'm recovering from a 5-month hospital stay and I'm having to learn how to walk again - no, it wasn't a stroke, thank heavens.

Based on my brother's experience with scheduled maintenance with his 2021 Camry, I expect to get bent for around $1k.

I hope you are recovering well after your hospital stay, and I hope the stealership doesn't try to rip you off.
Anything on here past DIY is being ripped off-that's pretty much a given. When the OP reports back-and it's $95.00 for an oil change-the thread will be like-"I could have gotten a Rock Auto clearance oil filter for a $1.50 and 5 quarts of oil at Costco and the oil change would have been $40.00"

What does the app say for vehicle status?

Also, I haven't had it in a while, but I had to uninstall and reinstall the iphone app often. It would not seem to update on its own, and once and update was available the old app no longer worked.

Just ask specifically for what the services you want. Check the manual and decide what you want - the basic, or the severe service section.

They will likely automatically try to stick you with both air filters and an alignment, and anything else in the severe service section of the manual. Mine did. You should decide before you go what you will ask for, what you will accept and what you will decline and stick to that, don't be dissuaded.

Current situation -
  1. Upon Connected Services renewal, I was emailed an activation code to enter using the screen in the vehicle. Every attempt returns, "Network connection currently unavailable. Please try again later."
  2. Information online, states to check that the DCM software has been updated per Service Campaign 22TC01 and to try deleting and re-installing the phone app. DMC update has been verified and the phone app deleted and installed.
  3. After deleting and installing the phone app, I now cannot add my vehicle. When scanning the VIN barcode or manually entering the VIN, the app returns, "The vehicle information you entered does not match our records. Call Toyota."
Since recommended maintenance is due, I'll just schedule this and have them deal with the Connected Services issue as well.

When scheduling service online, I can choose three different "levels" of service; $213.39 - $480.39. Of course, this is just labor. They make their money by selling you parts.

I had a good experience with my local Toyota dealership when sorting out the mechanical key problem. I paid for the new blanks and they cut them for free.

Just to close the loop on this....

Finally had the time to call the "Toyota Customer Experience Center" this morning. After the "Press X if you need help with...." menu, Jessica picked up after 3 rings. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Long story short, there were two Remote Connect accounts associated with the vehicle. One with no phone number and the other with an incorrect number. The phone number is one if the items used when pairing the phone app to the vehicle, and for ID verification.

After deleting one account and correcting the incorrect phone number, they authorized my subscription on their end and all is good now.

What I can't figure out is, where did the incorrect phone number come from. It was a parent's home phone land line. My last surviving parent was my mother. She passed in 2020 and the house was sold in 2021. 🤷‍♂️

I think Jessica is Canadian. She had the "out" and "about" accent. 🇨🇦
