Highest mileage Corvette in the world?

There is a guy around here that has a 64? I think. Last car show I saw him at he had over. 400,000 miles. I am pretty sure it only had one rebuild.

NICE!!! I know those motors can run for a LONG TIME.

Most vettes i've seen average 50k miles. Highest being 150k but many 99-01 with 30k on them.

No idea which has the highest mileage relative to the earth, but I'll bet the earliest model (53? 54?) has the highest mileage relative to the sun

They barely made any 53/54 models, and as they were 6/automatic only not very good drivers cars.I imagine most 53/54s were crashed or scrapped with the few left being museum pieced...not high mileage daily drivers.

Awesome! I had a 1999 with 75k miles on it. I did have problems with it, mostly electrical. I just think at that time those cars were a little ahead of the curve - at least electrically - and GM hadn't ironed out the bugs yet. In the short time I owned mine I had traction control problems daily...I don't think I made 10 miles without some sort of light going on. The head light motors strip out. The steering wheel lock is magnetic and when it breaks...and it will...you will be stranded. Mechanically the harmonic balancers go bad on these cars and it's a pain to replace.

But the 5.7 is a reliable motor, gets decent fuel economy and has loads of power. Amazing to see someone get over 600,000 miles on one.

How many of those miles were racked up at 75 miles an hour, with the transmission in overdrive and the engine not even turning 2000 RPM?

Nearly all of them?

That's how it is done.

Wonder what oil,and how often he changes it? Curious to see how well the interior is holding up and if he has a regiment on caring for it. That's awesome! A red Corvette is probably one of the most beautiful cars.

My 75 has 400K+ but everything has been replaced at least twice. All the mechanical parts.

Why ?

Good car to pile miles on, fairly simple, well made, and GM V8's run forever.

Porsche's rack them up as well.

The 5.7 engine requires and is factory filled with Mobil 1 5w30 full synthetic. Not saying that's what this guy, or everyone, runs, but that's what I put in mine...no issues.

That's a little over 46k miles a year for 14 years. Not much stop and go on that car. He put the easiest miles on that car that one could put on a car. I can see it going that far without a rebuild. Heck, I'll bet his front brake pads last 200 k miles.

I've had GM supercharged V6 engines going close to 300k and still running great and not using more than 1/8 qt. of oil on 10k oil changes(never did have to add oil for that engine).

I think the corvette build quality increased a lot in the 90's
