What's the highest HTHS for 30wt and 40wt?
What's the thickest 30wt? (other than GC 0w-30)
What's the thinnest 40wt?

Appreciate all the help fellas.

Redline 5w30 has a HT/HS value of 3.8. Don't know about 40-weights.

Mobil Delvac 1330 10W-30 is 12.2 cst.

The newest M1 0W-40 is something like 13.4 cst.

Maxima has a 5w40 that's 12.6cst I believe. Redline's 5w30 is HTHS 3.8, never seen anything higher. Problem is a lot of companies don't post the value, only that it's 3.5 or better.

You're really asking the wrong question.
The grade doesn't matter; how thick or thin an oil is is determined first by it's HTHS vis' and secondarily by it's VI.

Case in point. RL 5w30 has the same HTHS vis as M1 0W-40 at 3.8cP. But in reality it is heavier at all oil temp's due to it's lower 166 VI.

Confused? The following post my help explain:

Why are you asking? What is the underlying question which you have not asked?

Haha...

Not really a question, but more so that I was thinking of trying out other oils. I'm set on M1 0w-40 but still like to dabble with curiosity on other brands/flavors.

Since my engine is turbo'd, I want something that won't sheer below a 30wt, or a 30wt that's solid like a rock. So far these are the only ones I can think of that would suit my needs..

M1 0w-40
PU 5w-40
Valvoline 5w-40
GC 0w-30
RL 5w30

Any other suggestions I can add to the list of oils to try? I see plenty of Castrol Syntec 5w-40 lying around but haven't heard anyone's input. Seems like people skip it since GC 0w-30 is just as good if not better.

A 10W-30 HDEO, like Delvac 10W-30, Delo 10W-30 are 12 cst or better, and won't shear below a 30-weight.

A HDEO 10W-30 would be good, b/c it is already formulated to withstand large diesel turbos.

It's a very hard to find, small, 'boutique' brand which is a fave/darling with the 2 wheeled/MX/road racing crowd.

10W-30 is an obsolete choice due to it's low VI in this day and age.

Lucas 0W-30 is another option. It's an A3/B3 LL oil (HTHS 3.5+). An option to GC but with a much higher VI; same VI as M1 0W-40.

Makes me drool...but where is this actually available?

Yes this is an interesting oil primarily available by mail order. More attractive than GC with it's 179 VI vs 167 and higher HTHS.

What's strange is that the PU 5w30 Euro L has the same 3.68cP HTHS vis as the PU 5W-40 Euro and virtually the same VI of 179 vs 180. The 5W-40 has a higher KV100 of 13.1cSt implying the use of lower VI base oils than the 5w30.
In service these two oils will have identical operational viscosities but the 5w30 should be more shear resistant.
Very odd.

Stick with M1 0W-40, you've got a good oil. MB, Porsche, Nissan, etc are confident enough to use it as factory fill in engines that produce even 600hp and have 8500rpm redlines. It'll do fine in your turbo Sonata.
