Have someone with a Jetta 1.8 (2014) and of course wants to reduce LSPI as much as possible. Most of the Euro oils seem to be doing the opposite by having high calcium PPM.

PP euro 0w-40 is pretty low on calcium. Lspi friendly looking formulation.

I'll second @edyvw in the EA888.3 not being prone to it. The wife's 2014 Jetta with 140k doesn't have that issue. Runs exclusively on 87 and have used pretty much every widely-available 502 5W40. No need to fear a boogeyman that doesn't exist.

LSPI isn't something you reduce. If you have it, you have a blown engine. If you don't have it, you don't have a blown engine. PI does not forgive.

Detonation is different and octane is a simple solution, along without not being overly tuned. Keep the cooling system clean and working is a good start. Making sure you don't have carbon build-up is good prevention.

I'd use what is recommended or something equivalent concerning motor oil. I don't hate on calcium.
