Nope.270F? Are you running an oil cooler?
Ideally sure its clearly the way to go here. Could also look at hood vent to help improve overall efficiency of the cooling system that oil cooling is tied to. It's a street car so all of these create a different set of issues. I do mostly shoulder season events that help and take cool down laps as-needed. The real issue is the coolant temps will creep up over 240 if you hammer it too long...again hood louver would help get more flow...airflow is the root cause here.270F? Are you running an oil cooler?
This is the norm for these cars on track. HTHS test at ~300 feg F.Oh wow those are quite high. Im still unsure how high is too high. My car reached 260f max so far without an oil cooler, so I use 2 grade higher than oem, which should give me more than enough viscosity, but i am not sure if it poses any danger to the engine. i remember reading in a corvette manual ( might ls2 or ls2 c6) that up to 300f was acceptable.
Regarding coolant, I am not even sure at what point it boils, which you seem to dance close to

Is that a Golf R? Well before getting my car, each time a Subaru Owner with an NA engine told me that their engine overheats because there was this time it jumped up to 230f I would say that is a monday morning drive for a downsized Euro turbo engine.EA888 at Eisenhower Tunnel I70.
