HELP!! Need something/someone to help organize my home shop

My garage is about like that. I had the trailer parked in it the last month and a half with building materials for the bathroom remodel. Finally freed it up and can get to organizing.

I’m wanting to find some warehouse racking. The shelves with the orange and green supports. They are good for thousands of pounds and can utilize space from the floor to the ceiling.

One section at least - of racks to the ceiling is really smart

I’ve seen businesses just stack unused racking outside for years. I bet if a person started enquiring about some surplus could be found

Not seeing the problem here... looks pretty organized by my standards... :ROFLMAO:
I’m glad someone is thinking along the same lines as I am! There is room and it’s not packed to the ceilings. This is a solvable problem.

I have a lot of stuff too, but our house is tiny, making things far worse. I don’t see it happening but sometimes I dream of going buck wild and moving into a larger home (would need a mortgage and too old lol)

Can you add on/build?

Our shed did wonders. I mean I used to have the ZT, tiller, mower, etc in this shop I could not even move in there but also didn’t have any stationary woodworking equipment

I spent two months clearing and organizing my garage last year. I finally built the shelves I wanted when the price of lumber came down. Then it was a matter of organizing and boxing what I have (and labeling the boxes). Through various inheritances I had more tools than I needed. Once I satisfied my toolboxes, the rest were sold on Facebook Marketplace or given to the Florida condo handyman. Many items were sent to the scrappers. In the end I was able to park my car and lawn tractor in the lost space.

Cleaning and organizing a garage is not so much a physical activity as it is a mental activity. You have to get yourself in a mood to toss things out.

I’ve now got my routine of Monday am is dump run. I’ve only got one load of old business parts left.

I’ve got all my electrical house wiring parts and bits nicely segregated. I can attack any project with vigor

I straightened another corner too

I am in the same situation. And it's not easy.

1) put everything you took out to do something back where it belongs.
2) put "like" things together
3) toss broken stuff you will never fix
4) label all boxes and storage containers
5) make a box of "give aways" such as corded power tools or OBD1 scanner, dwell meter.
6) sell duplicate tools

I am considering building a 4x8 storage shelf to store OPE under and lightweight outdoor garden stuff on the shelf like spreaders, garden sprayers

I had the same issue for a few years kept getting worse in my garage. Early fall I just started throwing things in the SUV I haven't used in years and off to the dump. Emptied everything on to the driveway tarped it. Built some shelves cabinets installed all sorts of hooks crap like that. Then started putting stuff back organized. Now I battle keeping it organized but I will say I threw out a ton of stuff haven't missed any of it yet
