HELP!! Need something/someone to help organize my home shop

I'm in a similar situation. My oversized two car garage gets absolutely packed, not to mention, I keep my Kubota tractor and wife's VW in there. I'm in a constant state of "Well, if I only XXX, then I could clean that area up.

Keep at it. Try a few things and keep working.

My next attempt is to insulate and close up the walls with plywood. Then floor to ceiling shelves in some areas, wall hanging in others, pass door on the wall closest to the house (btw - who builds a garage with no regular outside door?). Then maybe even heat with a wood stove!

On a serious note - canvas zipper bags have helped me.
I have picked up a few at garage sales that work well as "tool bags".
As an example - my sabre saw and all it's accessories fit in one, it's an easy grab out of the cabinet when I need it.
Same with my multi-tool and a few others. The light colored ones work best, I write in Sharpie what the bag holds right on them.

Dude , did you see the pictures of his shop ? Zipper bags would run away screaming ... :p

I use them for my less used tools

In my best First Gump, "I am not an organized man, but I know what a tool bag is."

The zipper just makes it take longer to get the tools out, lol, and they dont work after the bag is properly full.

I was referring to generic bags I've been fortunate enough to find, that didn't come with the tools they now hold.
I don't know what they held originally - garage sale finds.
But they are big enough to hold the tool, and all it's bits, blades, guides or whatever.
And be zipped while properly full.
I'm aware that often the bags, and cases, that come with tools are not always great. But the cardboard box they sometimes come in, are the pits.

Ah my misunderstanding

I’m sure those could be of some use

The tool bags I have are not terrible but say the M12 drill or driver soft cases are just as silly as the blow molded driver cases. Unless moving or some longer storage- those tools should be hung for rapid access

My go-to tool for most quick jobs is a cheap M12 screw gun. All it has is the 1/4 in. hex drive, and a clutch that I rarely use.
I keep it in a larger size M12 soft case that came with an impact gun.
The driver, a set of hex drive drill bits, a set of misc. driver bits, a stud finder, and a spare battery all fit neatly in the case, that's kept at arms reach in the house. I'm lazy.

Lazy? Who me?? ahhahahhaha

Lookin good for a guy that recently had surgery. Don't over do it. I did that and it wound up setting me back a couple weeks.
Yeah, 10 pound limit. I think I did overdo it with lifting a fan. Didn't feel like much but.............pain not there today, but I iced it and just took the ice off and suddenly it hurt like heck for 5 minutes, now ok

I sold one bike yesterday! Yay!! $2000. Been clearing space in a good way. Will list second bike today.

I never ordered a storage cabinet because I am limited to 20 pounds lift still. I will make do on that until later.

Progress- I asked how to start and I am
