Today, used the Crystal View packet sold at Wally and Advance. Same thing Wally TLE charges ~$40 to do. Packet is ~$16 and change at Wally. The left (as you look at it) was in worse shape than the right.

LOL. Not yet. Hope I don't blind anyone and get the high beams.

Yeah, they were overdue. Been waiting for a cooler day to do it. Good excuse anyway.

It takes about half hour for DIY, and it's easy to see why the places like PB and Wally have gotten into the HLR biz. Decent profit, I'm sure the wholesale price is even less than the $16+ they charge for the packet.

The only thing that sucks is they might start to fog back up in a few months. When I got a 95 Neon, the lenses were horrible. I sanded them down then finished with the Mother's powerball and some plastic polish. Seeing how you got your headlights that clean, you might just need to do a "touch up" with a powerball every few months.

I've done this once before on my daughter's 01 Civic over a year ago. Last I looked, they weren't quite as good as when restored but not bad.

If they go ~a year I'd be satisfied. Whatever is in the CV2 packet I believe is supposed to hold the clear a while, and you apply two coats. We'll see.

I used some clear spray paint after polishing them on a beater. They didn't come out well w/just the polish, but the paint cleared them up.

The final 'polish step' using the CV1 packet it looks better than start but still foggy. It's not until you use the CV2 to fill in the small scratches that it looks really clear. As I said, that is done twice.

I polish my headlamps (and taillamps) with Mcguires PlasX polish (by hand) twice a year. Easy to do, and they always look like brand new.

The last step with the Crystal View product is a sealant of some type that's advertised as being UV resistant to prevent (or at least delay) fogging up. This is the key difference between this kit and the single step headlight polishes.

If you put an occasional coat of wax on them, they will stay like that. I wax my headlights every time I wax my truck, and they still look brand-new

I'm sure I could have done a better job of protecting them with more regular care. But, it does travels country roads daily and the amount of bugs it picks up early morning and night is amazing.

I believe that to be the major difference. Actually contacted the company previously regarding making the CV2 last longer. They said, I could use a synthetic automotive protectant like Megs-NXT, Eagle One Nanowax etc. as opposed to carnauba based wax or wax in general which have a lower melting point, but didn't say it was required. As said previously, the Civic I did was good for at least a year with nothing extra.

Meh, I tried PlasticX before, it was ok but it didn't clear near as well as the finished CV kit, and it didn't last long at all. Hoping this will last as long as the previous one I did.

Also like not having to use a drill or tape off, but that's just me. To each their own.

Yes, it was the pics of your tbird and IIRC elantra using CV that inspired me to post some more pics using CV. IMO, 2 years is great. Seriously, if I get 1 year or more I'll be very satisfied.
