Hawk Hps Pads

I currently have the HPSes installed at all four corners.

The cold bite is fine, but they ARE better once more heat is in them.

The only complaint I have is that a cold braking event, IN THE WET (as in a heavey downpour on the highway, with 'lakes', etc.) I must apply 2-3 times the pedal pressure in order for them to bite hard.
But I'm not certain that this is caused by the HPSes, or if I currently need to bleed/flush my fluid (I use Brembo RBF 600 which is only good for about a year in street use, before needing to be changed).

I DO want to try the Carbotech Bobcats/AX6es, or the StopTech street pads in the future though.

And yes, the HPSes are just about an autocross pad, let alone a track day pad (Hawk DOES make plenty of GREAT versions of serious track pads though).

They are decent but not a lot of bite in the "cold" like many said. They dust quite a bit, more than Performance Friction Carbon Metallic, but not as bad as Bendix / Axxis Ultimate. They are significantly better than the consumer grade ceramic pads from Wagner, Hawk, Raybesto, Monroe, etc.

Your issue has been reported before by many. Lots of so called "low dust" formulas have this issue, and it can be frightening.

Note that the Stoptech formula does not do this. Instant bite under all conditions. The penalty is some dusting.

Once seated in , you should feel a nice difference.

i found a pad that grabs around what the Hawk HPS does, but dusts less, it's PBR in australia (the OE manuf for the 4th gen camaro calipers), got their Metal Masters shipped from Sam Strano on his recommendation for a good less dusty street pad and once a month autox

i've also used Perf Friction, HPS, and Hawk HP+ the difference to the HP+ is big, could overcome ABS and lock the fronts even cold, cold bite was shocking, pads and rotors were trashed in less than 20K

I still have an unused set of front, LS1 f-body, PBR Metal Masters which I bought from Sam many years ago.
Maybe I will try them instead of selling them and using something else?

I was reading the bed in process on the pads, it seems like i have i have to find a nice open road.
