Hawk Hps Pads

I like hawk pads, do bed them in per instructions. They seem to brake better after about 500 miles of use.
I read a lot of complaints, but the complaints are posted by user's that dont properly bed in the pads. Bed them in right, and you will like them.
They have terrible bite in the cold.
The Nissan OE pads in my mom's 2010 Altima 3.5 V6 are damm good. I do not know if there is anything better.

I replaced GreenStuff pads with the Hawk HPS pads and stopping power is good with less dust. Much better "grab" than OEM.

In my experience with HPS, they dont' have great bite in the cold. Once warmed up a bit, they are good.
Even better than the HPS I ran HP+ pads on my civic, and those are awesome, but I quickly grew tired of the greatly increased noise and the massive amounts of dust not to mention the HP+ chewed up rotors. And yes, I did properly bed them in (both the HPS and HP+) on new Brembo rotors to the point of a lot smelly from the brakes, 6-8 30mph stops to warm up to prevent thermal shock, then 10 or so stops from 60/80 down to 5-10 (I have quite a bit of open road when I live). SS lines and ATE blue.
Lets see, I've ran Performance Friction Carbon Metallic, HPS, HP+, Portefield R4S, and Bendix CT3 on the civic. My overall fav out of all of them are the CT3, but for pure pedal feel and overall bite, initial and warmed up, I really like the HP+. I heard good things about the Stoptech pads. I hear great things about Carbotech and Cobalt Friction too, but that's getting more into very specific almost race applications. Carbotech and Cobalt make 'street' compounds in addition to their race compounds.
I now have Bendix CT3 on my Mazda6 and I like these pads. Good initial bite, little dust, good modulation and quiet compared to anything else I've ever ran.

While not a performance vehicle, I put Hawk pads and those Power Slot rotors on a 2000 Jeep Cherokee and my oh my WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Braking was much improved over the stock pads. I never noticed any difference hot or cold as far as stopping power.
so for those who bedded them in properly how much better is the bite over oems like one of you guys said the first 500 miles dont intitally bite hard? also longevity wise, i know it depends on the driver how many miles can i expect to get out of them?
The Hawk HPS pads work very well, but are DIRTY little guys.

I have had Hawk HPS pads and brembo "blank" rotors (the ones they make before they randomly drill holes and paint them gold) on my WRX since 70k, and I've been really happy with them.
I don't think they're a real 'race' pad, but for the street it's a great upgrade.

hps is not a track pad, yellowstuff pads are.

I know the wrx's pull hard how do you like them, Bite wise? Under hard braking how do they feel? you got to remember i dont track the car its my daily, though i do like to get on the loud peddle here and there and around the twistys. How was the bed in process?

I always wanted to try these but the price makes it hard to swallow. Recently Pepboys had these at close out prices, I priced up a set for the front for $17 (I ordered 2 sets).
I liked these when first installed and bead properly, now that I have a few thousand miles on them they're even better. Dust is no worse than any other pad I've used.
