Has 2012 A3/B3 and A3/B4 NOACK been relaxed?

Hello:

Check out the 2012 ACEA specs; it says NOACK must be 13% or less. As most of us know it used to be 10%. Am I reading something wrong?

These specs were never at 10%. But some of the MFG euro specs such as MB 229.5 have required NOACK to be 10% or less for years.

Hmm. I would have bet the A3/B3 and A3/B4 specs required 10% or less. Glad I didn't bet.

It's been said here before by someone (and I agree), the MB 229.5 spec is one of the most demanding and stringent of all.
