I look forward to the days starting to get longer.
I don't celebrate the winter solstice in quite the same way, but I do get a lot of joy out of knowing that the shortest day of the year is passing, and each day is now getting longer. Yipee!!!
Bite your tongue! Snow just brings salt and salt......well you know. Lol just kidding. If I never saw another snow flake it would be too soon.I absolutely hate winter, but I appreciate winter in the sense that it makes me appreciate Spring/Summer even more.I could go for a good snowstorm. I'll be glad once it starts staying lighter longer.

I like the novelty of the winter solstice. Kind of cool to see night at 5:30.

When your solar Xmas decorations come on at 5:15pm they are goners by 10pm. Too low of a sun angle.
Agreed, the sun limped up to only 16.5° above the horizon at solar noon here today.
(To calculate your winter solstice sun angle, subtract your latitude from 90°, and then subtract 23.5°.)
