hand sprayer leaking from bottom

i have in the past bought a couple of these types of sprayers to spray degreaser like purple power or simple green. after a little time, maybe a year of so, they develop a pin hole leak at the bottom where it seams together. this happened to 2 different brands of sprayers.

So is this pretty common with these types of sprayers? is it the chemical i sue in it? yeah i know they are not expensive ,but it seems a waste to keep throwing them out?

I have the Solo brand handheld sprayer that is over 10 years old. Have never had a problem.

I would either put some silicone to cover the hole, or put a small screw with some silicone on it, and use it.,,,
