Well after 14 years of ownership, I no longer have my 2000 Acura 3.2TL
On 14Oct16, I was driving to work at ~2:15AM doing 70 mph on I-75 when all of a sudden in lane 3 there appeared a deer. At the speed I was travelling, there was no way I could avoid a collision so the inevitable occurred... BOOM!! The car was totaled, both airbags popped. The deer must have gone clear over the car because although the hood was caved in and the passenger side fender was crumpled, the windshield was untouched. I escaped unscathed and was able to limp the car home:
Thing is, I found out that I had jury duty on 17Oct16. So I hurriedly searched for a replacement vehicle and on Saturday the 15th, I bought a used 2015 Chevy Cruze LTZ RS:
I like the car so far. I already did an oil change (the OLM was at 11% and the oil looked disgusting). I have a couple cases of CAM2 dexos1 5w30 full synthetic, the specified oil for the Cruze's Ecotec 1.4 turbo that I was using in the Acura, so that worked out perfectly. I also did a transmission fluid change; the car has 46k miles. A little over 5 qts fluid came out and since I have a case of CAM2 Full Synthetic Dexron VI that I was using in the Acura, in went the same amount of fresh fluid (along with a couple ounces LG red). Both maintenance tasks were easy to do.
The car has been great so far. It's a nice improvement in gas mileage and with 18" wheels/tires, it handles nicely and the ride is comfortable. I decided to go with an "econobox" because my commute is 50 miles each way to work and it'll be a nice car to give to my daughter in two years when she gets her licence (I'll look for a replacement vehicle then).
