Gumout Regane Vs. Chevron Techron

Most of the tanker trucks are contracted out. ( Family member delivers fuel to all different name stations ) It's cheaper to contact out a tanker company, and just dump the additives into that section of tank when it's full. Less overhead, no employees, no bene's, no trucks. Just sign a contract to deliver the fuel. Cut & dry. I do think Sunoco has their own rigs to deliver the goods ( Oh, a Judas Priest song....LOL :)
Yep this is how it's done. Additives are dumped + mixed @ the terminal (except for Costco which is done at the pump). Can't corroborate Sunoco having their own rigs...they're trying to exit the consumer fuels market and into the B2B fuel market.

Not a very scientific test, but wow Red Line beat everybody else in Pete's test.

Of all these, BG 44k is head and shoulders above the rest shown, also including Techron. With Shell 87 and either microdosed or can full of 44k, I don't think you can go wrong.

Hopefully Amazon will have 44k discounted for this upcoming prime day.

I use Gumout Regane mostly and in last tank before oil change, Techron isn't even sold in Canada stores and it's considerably more expensive in USA while I used to buy it in US Costco when I saw it there. I also use Lucas upper lubricant and cleaner once in a while. So far I haven't experienced clogged or leaky injectors but keep using one of mentioned products once in about 4 months.

Feeling lazy for research, make it easy for me please. Which one will do a better job? Gumout's lower price is attractive, PEA is mentioned on the bottle and it can work upto 19 gallons.
I have been having fuel in my oil and it might be because of dirty fuel injectors? Althought I buy gas from Shell. I want to try some fuel additives to see if they make any difference.
Amazon has Gumout Regane which does 21 gallons out of a smaller bottle for a smaller price, so higher concentrate. the auto store ones seem to be less concentrated. Though They claim here that Chevron has more Pea % by weight, So i guess it has more and its a bigger bottle for less fuel. https://ricksfreeautorepairadvice.com/the-best-fuel-injector-cleaner-and-fuel-system-cleaners/

I just wait for the 2F1 deals at local auto stores and stock up …

This "test" is specious. (though I acknowledge he's just doing what he can in his garage)

Not all PEAs are equal. Many modern PEAs are esterfied (esteramines) and work better in heat and turbulent air. (ie: combustion) PEAs can become progressively more effective until ~500°F. Simply placing plugs in a bowl of treatment will not give an accurate representation of the additive's effectiveness.

Something to note... Once you get above 500°F, you start burning up the PEA. Thus, it's more effective to drive the vehicle lightly when using PEA treatments. You have sufficient cylinder heat for reactivity while low enough to not burn up the PEA.

Good to know, I will have to try to keep my foot off the pedal in a turbo car when I have a tankful of Redline S1. I assumed the opposite.

I cycle between Regane, Techron, and Redline. Should probably add BG 44K to the mix as well but oh boy the price compared to the others =_=

As far as gasoline goes I try to fuel up exclusively at Chevron as they advertise Techron on all fuel grades while Shell only labels their Premium with the Nitro V-Power. only my Cadillac Northstar V8 gets that :) everything else is happy to live on 87.

can it be overused like two bottles and a tank? What's the harm in that?

Good question.....and I can't answer it......But, I've dumped 2 bottles of Chevron, a couples of bottles of dry gas, and 2 bottles of Cataclean into my Honda when the CAT MIL code popped up on the dash. Cleared the light with my scan tool. Ran it for a few days. Maybe 1/4 tank. The light came back on :(. $1,300.00 dollars later,( California emissions in NY !!!!!!!!!!! ), the 2 cats were replaced :(.....No noticeable side effects to engine from dumping all that stuff in the tank anyway. But, I did run the tank down before I put the new Cats in, just in case.

I have fuel dilution issues, and I suspect my fuel injectors might be dirty. More than 200,000 miles on my van

I had a stubborn intermittent CEL that would not go away, and testing determined that the upstream O2 sensor was faulty; keeping in mind that the original O2 sensor had 260k kms. Replacing the sensor made it worse, a defective cheap one from RA. The next one I got was from Amazon, it made the light stay off more frequently but not perfect. Fast forward to a few months ago and the CEL stays off, and I suspect that it was Shell fuel that slowly made a difference; it took almost 25k kms. and 4 years, I'm now at 285k kms. I use Shell exclusively in both my vehicles, and use V-Power during the summer months.

Siennna Dude, I'd try any of the above listed in above threads. You got nothing to lose. You're already dumpin fuel into crankcase. They say don't run past 500 degrees on the exhaust system or the cleaning agents just burn away. Have no idea how you're gonna test the temp though. Maybe 1200 RPM max ????

1200 RPM is not practical at all for me. I have been driving normally. Infact stupid me I floored it few times thinking it would work better that way SMH

Don't shoot the messenger Sienna Dude. I know 1200 RPM is not practical. The above posts say don't run exhaust over 500 degrees, or you'll burn away the cleaning agents. I was just trying to match an RPM to a temperature. Take a ride uptown on this post. Maybe I missed something. I'm sorry :(
