group 27 battery for 2nd gen dodge cummins

Group size is physical dimensions, terminal locations and polarity. No chemistry designation.

Stock for that truck is Group 27 750CCA. Doesn't require deep cycle. If you don't have an application that requires deep cycling, then you don't need it.

I am using a single group 65 AGM from Walmart. Deleted the grid heater and 2nd battery, truck has been fine. I have no idea if you can get away with that in the north.

I recently purchased a group 27 starting battery for my Lund Tyee boat. It has extra capacity to run the fish finders but still has good CCA to start the main outboard engine and the kicker outboard engine.

Here's a couple regular (non-deep cycle) Group 27 batteries.

My O'Reilly stocks them as an SBB 27PRMJ

If needed you can get a new factory-esque hold down with stainless bolts and clip nuts on Amazon. I've used several on various 2nd Gens
