Green oil from Mobil 1

If that weight of oil were specified and this product certified by my vehicle's manufacturer, I'd have no reservations about running it. I've had outstanding service from Mobil 1 oils since my very first car, and every vehicle since. I've run other oils on occasion, but mostly Mobil 1 products. I doubt they are going to put an engine damaging oil or short lived oil on the market, particularly with the Mobil 1 brand behind it. If they were going to do that, they wouldn't put their name on it. They'd put Dollar General on it.

If you read the article it says the oil is green because of the formulation. Not an added color like Royal Purple.

whether the the oil is Green, Purple, Amber, or Red, the color comes from Oil Soluble Dyes added during blending.

I fully agree. Same here. I plan on using it as it meets the new JLR spec. Only other oil is Castrol Professional Edge E

Not according to M1.

tig1, dyeing is part of the oil formulation process. Just because Mobil never made a big song and dance about it before or made it very showy doesn't mean it didn't happen.

OK. Ha! Actually I posted this for the Euro crowd that might be interested. Who knows, maybe Mobil 1 0w20 and 0-30AFE may be tinted Green as well in the future.

I just called Mobil tech and they said it has not been released in the US market yet. He didn't have the info on the Euro market as of this time. However he did say 0-16 has been released in Euro.

tig1, maybe this one will have the BMW 0w-20 spec, too.

TIG1: I apologize sir for my harsh criticism of this oil.

I spoke to a customer service and technical person. They said it's for the European market only and won't be available in the U.SA. True or false, I'm not sure.
