Anyone heard of or had any experience with these http://www.greendiamondtire.com/ studless, yet 'studded effect' ice/snow tires? Seems like an interesting idea.

A friend of mine almost got into the business. It's a retread with carbide bits mixed into the compound. Others tried the process but the carbide was tough on the molds. Green Diamond got the process down. I think they are lower in price than a premium winter tire, but they don't perform as well.
Yep, they are made in Elmira, NY USA by Twin Tier Tire. A retread. PRetty good tires for reasonable price. Never tried them, but the idea is value, not high performance.
These tires and this company have my attention... I read the Offroader.om review and am fairly impressed. I wonder if you can have siping done to this type of tire? Anybody have first-hand experience with this product?
