From the Valvoline Europe website:

MaxLife 10W-40, MaxLife 15W-40

MaxLife Diesel 10W-40
Improved soot control for diesel engines

MaxLife FE 5W-30
Improved fuel efficiency

MaxLife Synthetic 5W-40
- Full synthetic formulation
- Enhanced cold start protection

Interesting they have a diesel Maxlife and the 15w40. No 10w30 though (I know they use thicker oil in Europe, but why the 5w30 then?).

Good Question!
At the moment all Europe Ford cars are stated to use 5W/30 Engine Oil, even the old Ford too!
I think that is wrong, newer Ford use 5W/20, maybe 5W/30 at later on and the older Ford use 10W/30 or 10W/40.
In both of our Ford cars are using Valvoline 5W/40 Full Synthetic SynPower which we are happy with.
But I can't speak for the other car's makers what Engine Oil they use.

10W-30 has never been a "popular" grade in Europe. When car manufacturers dropped 10W-40 they went with 5W-40 or 5W-30.
