my county government takes used motor oil, batteries, anti- freeze etc. no questions asked.no charge
on saturday morning they have somebody watching to make sure the truly stupid dont contaminate the holding tanks w/ the wrong fluids.

anyway, it seems they are glad to take it all because it leads to far less ilegal dumping.

this is an example of a good government service

As for the "blue stuff", I am pretty sure I don't want any "blue stuff" near my oil. How much "blue stuff gets into the oil and is floating around in oil, or clogging oil filters? I am guessing you put "blue stuff" as a sealant? Sounds like a horror show to me.

Some times it's better to stay quiet and let the world assume your stupidity than to open your mouth (or keyboard) and proove it.

Blue stuff is a tamper proofing line drawn across plug and pan to indicate if plug has been tampered with(it all stays OUTSIDE. For years, unscrupulous (sp) individuals would drive a couple miles after walmare oil change, then pull plug, drive till it lock up. To get new engine at walmart expense.

No, I'm not particularly inteligent, or educated, could care less what group base stock is used,, but after 30+ years of repetitive daily oil changes,,I'd bet my expertise against any one on this board where it counts.

Recently hired a young man who is Walmart trained. ABSOLUTELY no need to check behind him, all is done well and professionally.

By the way,, Valvoline does pour out of the bottle clearer with less sediment residue than about any other oil I've noticed. Does that make any difference? Probably not, never use the stuff myself.

As for stupidity. Thanks, but I am pretty sure I have enough intelligence and education to not be considered stupid. Oh, and nice grammar on your post. As for the "blue stuff", I remember having a liquid gasket put on my oil drain plug from a Mobil 1 Lube Express a couple years back. This is what I thought he was referring to. If that is not the case, it is an honest mistake, not stupidity.

As for you calling me stupid, I am pretty sure you would never do that to my face. I love how folks can call someone a name on a forum, but would cower in real life.

that's the beauty of anonymity, isn't it?

this whole thread is pointless. I just read through 7 pages of it (I guess I AM an idiot)and all I've seen is that there are pro and con for WM. fine, points made. time to move on.
