It's been a long, long 24 hours. I've been awake since 9AM yesterday, and I just drove 500 miles. Basically, I was on my way to the Mass Effect 3 midnight release this morning, and I get a call from my mom saying that my grandfather was in the hospital. He had a bypass over 20 years ago, and he'd been having chest pains. So he drives himself to the hospital, and they admit him. My understanding is that they ran a stress test, and determined that the grafts they performed in his previous bypass were in very poor condition, and were nearly completely clogged. The doctor refuses to perform another bypass, because they are fairly sure he would not survive the operation.
He is currently undergoing an attempt at angioplasty and to use stents. But the doctor does not give him great odds, because the grafts are in such poor condition that it may cause even worse damage. So one way or the other his odds aren't good. My aunt called my mom and told her the story, and she called my dad who was out in washington state. He says he wants to go see him, so he took emergency leave, and got an immediate flight out to cleveland. At the same time, we rapid packed for 4 people, threw the stuff in the car, and then I drove 500 miles, picked my dad up from Cleveland Airport, and straight to the hospital, where I'm sitting now. I'm running on coffee. 12 hours ago I wasn't even aware of the situation. I thought I would just post about this, if you don't see me on for a while, this is what's going on.
Thanks
