I recall seeing a Misha vid with a newer Type R on track that was seeing 150C oil temps (302F) , but don't actually know for sure what oil was in it.

No mandate in a car without a harness but here's what I use:TiGeo, Are you mandate to wear a Hahn's? If not does anyone still wear one?
You have an aux oil cooler on your BMW right? After eaxh session (and I run sessions on full heat, max ventilation speed) i leave car for 10 min, max heat/vent on. No handbrake, wheels chocked.
That isn't my car so no idea. I run HPL 5W40 on my VW for track use.To the OP: with all the mods, track use and oil temp why didn’t you bump up the viscosity?
Yeah, I remember the dude on M5board that regularly tracks his 300,000 mile E39 M5, lol. Total trash, right?Owner should have used a much stouter grade for the track.
Even in stock form these engines are known to grenade with Toy voiding warranty.
Where's the guy who ascribed wondrous durability to Toyota products while calling BMWs trash?
AFAIK, you can track any BMW without fear of failure.
In the case of Toyota, if the owner tracks a car that begs for that sort of use, they are essentially out of luck.
