Thats pretty sweet!! I like what Ford has done with their trucks.
You think if I throw $20 your way, you can come up to Metro Detroit and help me launch my boat in the spring and pull it out in the fall?

Am I the only one that noticed that the angry poster's screen name is the same on both of those forums? There's bad trucks and dealers in every make. This guy had some bad luck so he is spreading his story like the plague.

Ric's truck was 100% stock (except for 5th wheel hitch and accessories) when his pump failed. This is not caused by modifications, this is caused by a fatally-flawed design. Every vehicle with this design should be bought back (at full selling price) and crushed.

I will actually back Jar up on this one. Ric is well know on the RV board. Until this truck the guy had to be one of the worst Bleed Ford blue people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
He defended the 6.0 Powerchoke and Ford to a fault. I really felt bad for him and the other guys who have had the same problem. Plenty of them on the RV boards with stock trucks
That isn't to say you will have the problem or that your truck isn't very nice. It is just something to be aware of.
The reason I have a gasser is becuase of the stories I have read on the RV boards for ALL brands. I will go a bit slower on the big hills but won't have some of the Big 3 diesel's problems. Don't get me worng there are not a ton of problems, but the problems range from big to small, and they are all pretty pricey when they need to be fixed and that scares me.

No, I think BOSCH should be footing the bill for this, not Ford, GM, or VW. They got sold a bill of goods...but while VW and GM are stepping up and making things right, Ford is raping their customers.

Because the only effective repair would violate Federal law (the high injection pressure is for emissions), the only fix is to replace the vehicle. I don't expect it to happen, but that would be the right thing.
Try stopping a late-model diesel truck without any power brakes. Quite simply: you have no chance unless you have legs like a steroid-injecting powerlifter. Even then, you'll probably quintuple (or worse) the stopping distances.
