I would not even CONSIDER replacing the fuel tank...it will reduce the already-slim chance Ford will cover a failed HPFP to exactly zero.
Unless you have read something on this matter that I have not. GM actually has a higher failure percentage out of the Bosch HPFP's than Ford does and the only way Ford has been denying claims is when water in fuel was found to be the cause. All in where you get your information I guess.
