Got me a GLI Autobahn

I loved one I had in CC. But on track, you know, when you go to track for fun, to blew some steam, manual all day, every day.
Never had the pleasure to run h p r. My friends that did run it, they stated it was a great track. It was a love hate relationship with that track. They loved the track, hated their oil and coolant Temps. All tracks have their challenges.

Great country to be a gear head in. Having all these "problems" due to numerous tracks we have a choice of.

I'm still on the dsg bandwagon. For MY driving style, it's better.

If I change my mind due to the one in my S4 fighting me(not really a fight, I'm hitting my ass whopped), I reserve the right to change my mind.

At HPR cooling is THE BIGGEST challenge. It is east of Denver, in corn country (literally) where summer temperatures are around 100f and altitude is 5,000ft. All VW’s have issues here. GTI, R, doesn’t matter. Without radiator type oil cooler, or two, you are running 2-3 laps and then it is limp mode time.
I had to install N55 radiator type oil cooler as my oil temperatures would go to 300f.
Luckily I have N52 and manual, so oil cooler from N55 is overkill. I have seen tuned 335 with two huge, 25-27 row oil coolers, and still having issues.

Wow. Didn't realize it was that bad up there. They also complained about ppir and Temps. Mostly it was my subie friends that came back from ppir with engines sounding like a Guns and Roses song.

Yeah, Subaru head gaskets won't like altitude here. Not many at HPR, and if there are, they are heavily modified. But forget to bring your DD Subaru. Miata's, Porsches, BMW's, Mustang's, Vette's, anything with a huge oil sump or not so much weight and space for a quick cooling upgrade. My BMW is DD, but luckily BMWs are like lego; you can borrow pretty much anything from more powerful models.

You're lucky to live near such a area that has so many cool tracks.
