That comment is purely personal opinion and holds zero merit. As a longtime educator and school administrator, you're wrong.

Haha I think your story is hilarious!! You remind me alot of myself when I was in high school (I'm 48 now). We all did alot of horsing around, cutting up,and having just good clean fun. I went to this tiny private school so I guess we felt bored and repressed :P When my brother was a little kid (he and I are 10 years apart) my friend and I stuffed him into our parents' dryer and turned it on. You could hear him banging around and laughing at the top of his lungs! He wanted to keep doing it and doing it haha. Then one time when I was 16,another friend and I picked up one of our other friends, put him in the trunk, and drove around town. When we'd come to a stop somewhere he'd start yelling and banging on the inside and laughing haha.

Thanks guys. I know everyone has different ideas/beliefs. As you can tell some people told me I should be charged with assault next to don't do it again. I have had different principals through out my years. This guy really just is an ***. There have been some principals that were a lot more respecting.

My middle school principal pretty much told me I would never amount to anything important (I got in trouble for something really stupid and told me her kid would never do that) . While her kid is in my class. He has kissed other guys at parties and came home one night crashed his Ford Ranger. He went unconscious from the wreck and woke up the next morning and walked home.

Please note it might sound like I was trying to kill a kid by closing the door on the dryer. I understand there really is no excuse for that. I just was upset in the way it unfolded, the way the principal accused me of doing it, and how there was different consequences for the parties involved.

Take your punishment. Serve the time and move on. See, you're young and haven't developed your impulse control completely. If you are lucky, you will survive this time in your life.

Oh,and don't sweat the pricipal's punishment,I got licks and punishment for every bonehead thing we did in high school, and looking back,we totally deserved it! One day when you're my age you'll look back and realize the principal was a pretty smart guy!

I thought public employees were overpaid???

Some are, but from what I understand most teachers don't make much more than ~$30k unless they have been around a while. OP is in Kansas so I'm sure they're not making much.

I never got suspended when I was in high school, I just remember being incredibly annoyed at the female employees that would [censored] all the time and yell at students. It's ridiculous. The principal was "on a high horse" type when complaining to the school as a whole, but I never spoke with him personally. I wouldn't have wanted to either.

For the record, OP served his punishment so I don't see the problem or why you guys are giving him such a hard time. I do agree with the person that said never admit to something you didn't do.

My mom is a special ed teacher (in a different part of the state). She makes around 45-50K. I have a feeling he makes around 65-75k.

Wow you guys are harsh...get the feeling he was kinda testing you all...

Like a bunch of folks who found someone peed in their cornflakes......

Exactly, as a teenager if someone gets in a dryer right in front of you, it's only natural to close the door and turn it on.

This must be bringing back some traumatic memories of high school for some BITOG members.

Don't do the T-shirt thing. In school you're on PC principal's turf. You have no power. The "Not My Principal" shirt would probably be seen as disrespect, and the "Dryer Lives Matter" could be construed as racist. Either suck it up or get back at him in some anonymous way. You can't suck it up your whole life though. No need to start grovelling in high school if possible, you've got a whole life of work ahead of you for that!

There is your mistake right there.

Never admit to something you didn't do.

I agree.

Forget the T-Shirts. Learn from this. You may have badly injured the other boy.

THINK BEFORE YOU ACT.

Never mind as teenager, if someone jammed himself in dryer tomorrow theres a good chance i'd be shutting the door.

Of course, I'm a lot smarter now and would take a quick look around first.

I didn't read all four pages of comments so forgive me if its been asked already...

How did this come to the Principals attention nearly two months after it happened? Isn't there a statute of limitations on high school locker room tom foolery?! I'm a little worried now. Its been 25 years, but I did some terrible things by today's standards.

Just do your two days. No custom tshirts.

Keep this up and you'll be living in a van down by the river!!!!

(Just had to say it)

Oh come on. If anyone involved here learned anything I hope it was the boy that said 'hey I bet I can fit in that dryer.' No one got injured. There is no 'may have been injured.' Either you got hurt or you didn't, and if you crawled into a dryer and got hurt then I hope you learned your lesson.

In my day everyone involved, guilty or innocent would've been caned. Bend over, whack, whack, whack. End of story - next!

OP is way too young to get that reference!

Highly doubt it..special ed teachers are likely higher paid than regular high school teachers. High school teachers dont get paid enough to deal with you punks

An older guy here, sometimes when I think back on some of the stunts I pulled and "nobody got hurt"... I get a shiver, at what could have happened. It's all statistics, friend. If someone pulls enough stunts, somebody's gonna' get hurt. Then that's on your conscience for the rest of your life.

Learn the lesson friend, THINK BEFORE YOU ACT.
