Google Pixel announces New Phones

Already preordered the Pro XL. I already have the 9 Pro XL, stupid I know, but for something that gets as much use as my phone, I think it's worth upgrading every year.

google.fi has decent deals
for current subscribers

They included standard tier this time..
not just uber premium tier , and data paid by GB tier.

449 for p10
549 for p10 pro
749 for pro xl

I'm thinking the p10 pro is the value ...the XL what do you get for 200 more dollars?

New customers get 300 off then 500 off over 24month.

which comes out to free for the p10 - have to keep service for 24months
200 for the p10 pro ---------------------have to keep service for 24months
400 for the p10 pro xl------------------have to keep service for 24months

We have had Google Fi since it was Project Fi. It's pretty good especially if you travel out of the country. But Verizon has better cell coverage in places I have lived in East Coast.

What made you go for the extra 200$ on the xl vs the 10 pro? (curious not judging ;) )
except for the upgraded bottom speaker I didnt see much difference besides the physical size.

Its tempting.. I could get the p 10 pro for 549 and sell my p9 pro xl for 400 or so on marketplace.

Boy... they're really running out of hardware upgrades, aren't they? The P10 is definitely a beautiful phone, but comparing the XL side by side with my 3 year old Samsung S22 Ultra I can barely see an upgrade (putting megapixels and AI garbage aside):

My S22's display has better pixel density and higher resolution (1440x3088 vs 1344x2992, 500 ppi vs. 486), although it loses out on nits (1750 vs 3300), S22 battery is only 200 mAh smaller in capacity, S22 is lighter by 4 grams, dimensions are within .05", and so on. Aside from incremental future proofing (WiFi 7, 4 gigs more ram, Bluetooth 5.3), what am I getting for my $1,199?

Oh, and one of the big "upgrades" is 45w charging. Something my S22 had back in '22.

Had a Pixel 6. It was ok, but I hated that there was no option for a normal Gallery, only Google Photo that forces backups constantly.

Upgraded to Pixel 9, that was even worse. Forced every Google app on me under the sun. Way more invasive and annoying than any Android I had before. Camera was nice, but that's all. Then constant 5G issues started. I had to flip "Airplane Mode" on/off anywhere between 3-30 times per day just to get the 5G to work. It had signal, but wouldn't load nothing and act like no access to internet, until I flick the "Airplane Mode". That was the last straw for me.

Screw Pixel forever. Between Pixel 6 and 9 and its Google Photo only option - roughly 500 of my pictures vanished without a trace as the backups would glitch often. Gone from phone AND Google Photo backup. I'm talking once in a lifetime pictures and videos of my kids in their infant-baby-toddler stages. Very upset about that still. It really made me miss my LG V-series phones.

Now back on Galaxy. Got S22 Ultra and am very happy to be in control again. Non-invasive Android, very capable, and MUCH better camera than the Pixel.

Just my couple pennies on the topic, your experience may vary.

I prefer larger phones, my work phone is a regular sized iPhone 14 and I hate the size (and everything else about it)

I love my Pixel. No bloat, no overhead. Pure Android. And the best camera in the game.

I wonder if Google will make another PixelBook Go?
Same. I have a Pixel 7. Still performs very well. Battery has not degraded thanks to charge settings. My wife prefers pics from my phone over her Iphone 16 Pro.

I will see what trade in deal they offer on Black Friday on the 10 before deciding. I went from a 6 to a brand new 7 for only 20 bucks on their Black Friday when the 7 was new. Couldn´t beat the deal, even though the 6 was only a year old and still great.

If they don´t offer a good trade for BF, I´ll wait one more year and either get a 10 at a discount or go for the 11 when it comes out.

Im hooked on Apple devices though bored with phones in general. Nothing really new in them all do the same thing though of course the premium phones do it much better. I traded a iPhone 13 for a iPhone 15+ I do like the bigger screen, along with the bigger screen comes more battery life too. I was concerned about too big but it's just right.

Still, phones arent as exciting as they used to be, each year brings improvements and today's premium phones are amazing, still wish for something new. I thought Apple would have a foldable by now but I wont hold my breath. Foldable phones have their place but the companies that make them, sales have been in the toilet. Maybe that is why Apple bailed out? or maybe not, we will see.
Pretty much, Im not so sure what more phones can do in their present form.

What phone do you have for personal use. I used to have Androids and an Apple company supplied phone. Back then I hated Apple phones, but because a hard line convert with my personal iPhone XR many years back and never looked back, from there it was a iPhone 13, and now iPhone 15plus.
Wife was from an 11, to 13 and still has that one today. She does not want a new one yet.

I'll wait for the 11 since my 6 won't give me a reason to upgrade. Still satisfied with it.

Same, but I'm losing track of the releases now. I thought the 9 came out this year and not last Aug :o.

I just want the smallest, cheapest phone with wireless charging.

Preorder on the Pixel 10 complete yesterday. $449 plus tax due to my $100 off promo and $250 on trade-in for my Pixel 6. I'll also get a $100 store credit...don't need it but I'll probably buy the mag charger stand.
