I have a Google Pixel 9 Pro, and I have my phone ringer set to ring, and the alarm set to emit a ring tone as the alarm. Unfortunately, the phone only makes the vibrate sound for the alarm, and no sound at all when I get a call. I looked in the settings but didn't see a global "turn all sounds off" control.

What can I do to get sound on those two apps again?

press up volume and look at the icon on top of the volume.

That controls regular, vibrate, or silent mode.

if that is set correctly look at the bottom of the volume bar where the 3 dots are and tap those.

I swear to god they've changed something with the recent update and added AI or something. My usual routine is that I shut the lights off in my bedroom and turn my work alarm on just before laying down. Twice now it has already been turned on when I go to check it.

Starting to make me feel like the machine is watching (Even more than it actually does)

Well that was it. I tapped the three dots, and saw that Do Not Disturb was enabled. How, I don't know. I didn't even know that feature existed until right now. Anyways, all is well. Thanks a lot. I've been missing calls lately, and somehow this morning I manage to awaken to a vibrating phone instead of my alarm.

press up volume and look at the icon on top of the volume.

That controls regular, vibrate, or silent mode.

if that is set correctly look at the bottom of the volume bar where the 3 dots are and tap those.

My phone does all kinds of crazy things. Sometimes it will play a YouTube video in the middle of the night. The apps on my home screen move around as well as other things.

This morning my alarms did not go off. It said "alarm did not fire due to an unknown reason".

Fortunately the Amazon truck was here @5a to wake me up.

Do not disturb is on the quick settings menu you might have tapped it on accident.

Otherwise routines can turn it on and off.

Drag down from top of screen to open the quick settings menu
as seen below.
the "2 modes on" will say Do not disturb possibly.

somehow over the past few months, my pixel watch 2 started turning Do not Disturb on all by itself....absolutely not an input from me telling it to do so...
and of course, if DND is on on the watch, it also turns it on on the phone...
