I'm looking for a good product that with clean out engine deposits. I had a bad vacuum modulator on the A/T of my 93 aerostar and it was pumping ATF into the engine manifold. So I want to do an oil and filter change but before that I want to clean out the engine? any good products like SeaFoam?

Thanks

Gunk Flush. Don't worry, your engine won't explode. Also, run a pint of MMO in with the oil for a few OCIs after the flush. You don't have to buy mail order snakeoil to get results.

I 2nd that statement.

The ATF which got into your intake manifold should have been consumed in the compustion process. Do you know you have deposits in your engine or are you just assuming that you do?

The problem I see with adding a solvent flush to your oil is that you never get 100% of it out again. There is always some fluid that remains inside the engine when you change the oil. Given what's been mentioned so far I'd go with MMO or Seafoam.

Amsoil Engine flush, works wonders in short times... Or I would have to go with Auto-RX or MMO in the oil.

In that order...

Amsoil Engine Flush didn't do jack for me.

Right now I have an OCI with MMO running. We'll see if it has any effect.

As a rule of thumb Amsoil products are pretty good. Are you sure your engine has a problem in need of cleaning? What I've found is you can't clean something that isn't dirty. Maybe your engine is cleaner than you think?

I've done it many times with good results. I tend to do the full quart runs during the winter time. It is just a habit that carried over from many years ago, you can run a full quart all the time if you like. For me the winter time runs are more of a habit though.

We put 1/3 can of Seafoam in my son's 2000 Camry for about 200 miles. The oil came out filthy black. Next time we tried it the oil came out the more usual dark amber color. Therefore, I am of the opinion the Seafoam did significant cleaning.

I can see some carbon/sludge deposits thru the filler hole. LC20 and Amsoil's Engine Flush didn't touch them. Right now I'm trying a full OCI with 1qt of MMO.

I did. I had success with both products, but keep going back to red.
