I'm going to be giving my dad the XT4 and I'd like to lease an EV. Anyone aware of any good lease deals? The only one I can really find is ID4 but really don't want to go from a Cadillac to a VW. I'd love an Optiq but they're just trickling into the dealer lots so I'm sure there's no deals to be had. I'd love to hear of more leases similar to this. Hesitant to buy due to the massive depreciation EVs seem to be hit with.

No recommendations, but awesome you are giving your Dad the XTR. Very honorable!

BTW- I like the idea of leasing an EV. For certain situations, likely a very smart move.

And for a bit of comic relief: Jerry Seinfeld gives his Dad a Cadillac!!

Hopefully he won't get impeached from the HOA (Del Boca Vista Phase 2) and Jack Klompus won't drive it into a swamp.

I know the deals on Fiat 500e's is getting stupid cheap, but it's not a fast charging vehicle and the range is a bit short. I'm only thinking of getting one as a first car for for my oldest. I can't buy a good used car for what this would cost me for a 24 month lease.

IF still available I am finding a VW ad at this price, not sure but maybe a different part of the country is the reason?

Here is the VW website - https://www.vw.com/en.html/__layer/layers/homepage/offers/2024-id-4-electric-suv/master.layer

(important to note on leases the extra fee, on this lease not too bad of $1000 but still adds 41.66 a month if you divide that $1000 by 24 months)

"People say" (which may or may not be true) that Teslas depreciate rapidly. If it's true that's an opportunity to buy a used one in really good condition for cheap. A purchase is not a lease, but cheap is cheap.

If the body and interior are pristine, it should be good. There isn't be much opportunity to damage or abuse the power train. And they have a pretty good warranty anyway.

We have the base Model 3 SR+ (in blue) and it has all the important Tesla features. A non standard colour is an expensive option but blue apparently causes a reduction in value.

I traded in our 2018 Mid Range on the M3P last June. Who ever bought it scored. It was perfect.

It's true, but even an earlier one will be $15k+. For my next purchase I'm not looking to spend that for a 16 year old's car.

These crazy $149 lease deals makes me second guess my aversion to leases if they can actually be had. $3,600 over 24 months is crazy cheap.

Not asking numbers but did you feel you got a fair amount considering condition and miles? In your experience do they depreciate badly?
Yes they depreciate. There are so many Model 3's around here and the newer cars have improvements. Perhaps a 2019-2020 is the sweet spot?
I got like $21K; and it only had about 25K on the clock. The Mid Range RWD options were white paint and alloy wheels.
I think it was close to $50K (plus tax and license) with those options. There are plenty of fit-and-finish stories about the early cars; ours was perfect.

I knew, as an early adopter, I was paying a premium. I did buy the entry level (cheapest) car; the RWD and Performance were more money. The cars were continually improved.

Should I have both stock instead? Sure. But I thoroughly enjoyed the Mid Range. I have zero regrets (except stock!). I almost gave the car to a friend's daughter, but the new M3P was $71K out the door so the trade in eased the bite.

I miss it, but the new car is on a different level in so many ways.
