Two retired guys were playing a round of golf. They made it to the 9th hole, which happened to run alongside a rural road. One of the guys was about to tee off when a funeral cortege came into view on the adjacent road. He put down his driver, removed his cap, held it over his heart, and stood to attention while the hearse and the rest of the procession slowly drove past.
So the guy retrieved his club, and resumed his preparations for his drive.
“You know,” said his buddy, “that was really moving. I saw a side of you today that I haven’t seem before. I’m impressed by how respectful you can be”
The guy drove a perfect shot down the fairway, turned to his friend, and said:
“Oh, it was the least I could do.
We’d been married for 36 years…..”
