What does your Amway tech line have to say?
Hey, realize that most people don't care enough for Castrol to care. Hopefully GC and American 0w-30 = Castrol LongTec of the UK. Time will tell....

I personally don't like Castrol. To much marketing BS and they are spread all over the place. Not sure that translates into good QC. They don't even have a grip on what the differences are among their own products! I'll pass. I don't want to participate in a treasure hunt in search of oil.
We'll just count your blessings!quote:

Doug, let's try and be positive. Shell's takeover of Pennzoil/Quaker State has so far proven to not have reduced quality. I can't see BP destroying Castrol's long reputation for quality to save a few dollars. I'm hopeful that it won't be so negative, but could have positive influence. Of course, you have a lot more insight than I do.quote:

Sadly the BP takeover of Castrol was a painful process and for those of us that have used their products for over 50 years a reaql tragedy
Their excellent synthetic gear oils and ATF sold here are still the same stuff - if the name or colour changes they will have lost me as a customer
The latest Formula "R" synthetic engine oils sold here do seem to to perform well
