I am just looking for what people think about this feature. I don't know what transmissions are affected by this, but I am pretty sure most 6-speeds are. (GTO's Camaro, Trans Ams, etc.)
For those not familiar, the skip shift locks out 2nd and 3rd gears under certain rpms and drops you right into 4th. Obviously just put in to get some better MPG numbers.
I have never felt comfortable with this feature and had it locked out as soon as I bought my car. I have found myself in situations where I would never in a million years be dropping into 4th but the car thinks it's okay. I know the cars have the torque, but don't you think some serious lugging is happening with this feature?
